Answering the call for mutual support during the Covid-19 pandemic, VPMilk gave 200 light meals with milk every day to people in need outside its head office in Ho Chi Minh City.
VPMilk answered Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc's call for “mutual love and support” in the fight against Covid-19, while strictly following Directive 16/CT-TTg on nationwide social distancing.
In a spirit of charity, VPMilk handed out 200 light meals every day — bánh mì, bánh giò or steamed buns — together with Grow+, Đà Lạt Fresh Milk and Nutrimalt milk to people in need.
On 4 April 2020, outside the company's head office at 21A Nguyễn Thị Thập, Tân Phú Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, many people in difficulty received VPMilk's support. The activity was planned to continue until 15 April 2020, the end of social distancing, by which time 2,400 meals would have helped older people and low-income workers find the strength to get through hard times.
Following all government instructions, staff handing out meals wore masks and gloves, regularly disinfected equipment and kept their distance from recipients. All meals came from reputable suppliers with food safety certification, together with VPMilk's fresh, nutritious milk to support health and resistance.
Recipients were asked to follow the rules, keep order, avoid crowding (no more than 10 people at a time), keep at least 2 m apart and only collect meals if they genuinely needed help.
Through these practical actions, VPMilk's staff, together with other businesses and benefactors doing charity work across the country, shared one message: “Let's join hands with determination, beat the pandemic and reach safer days.”
